Simply open the Material tab and start adding lessons - it's super intuitive!
See in the video below how you can add a bunch of lessons in ~30 seconds, and easily re-order them.
Simply toggle "Edit" mode, and now you can drag modules & lessons around to re-order them.
By default, when you create a lesson, it's locked. I.e., students cannot open it until you unlock it by simply clicking the lock icon.
If you have lots of content, it might be overwhelming for students when they open the Material tab for the first time.
If you want to hide some modules to make the onboarding easier for students, toggle "Edit" mode, and click the eye icon next to modules you wish to hide.
Whenever you want to reveal content for students down the road, just click the eye icon next to a hidden module to unhide it.
Check out the Question Types Guide to learn about all the supported question types and item types!
Yes, you can embed YouTube videos or upload your own videos. Check the video item type.
Click the formula icon to type math formulas and launch the math keyboard.
To move some items/questions from one lesson to another, select them and click the Move button.
To turn a lesson into a quiz, hover over the lesson (or toggle "Edit" mode) and click the settings icon next to the lesson.
Then change the lesson type to Quiz.
To add a timer, click "Advanced Settings" and toggle the Timer option.
Hover the mouse over the lesson (or toggle "Edit" mode) to see the Due date button (calendar icon) next to the lesson.
Note: Make sure the lesson is unlocked before setting a deadline. (You can't set a deadline on a locked lesson since students cannot open it.)
Let's say you teach two 10th grade English classes - "10a" and "10b". It would be very useful to be able to share/sync the same Material between both classes.
Let's say you created Class 10a first. When you create the second class 10b, you can select whether to "Create New Material" or to "sync with" the other class.
Choose the sync option to share material between the two classes. You can repeat the process to share material with as many classes as you need.
Note: Once you sync Material between two classes:
To share/sync class material with another teacher:
Note: Once you sync Material with another teacher, any future changes one of you makes to the class material (such as adding/deleting/editing lessons, adding/deleting/editing questions) will be immediately reflected on the other teacher's class.
You cannot undo this step, so we recommend sync'ing material only if you teach the same material (e.g., both of you teach 10th grade physics).
Go to the Material tab in your new class, and scroll down. You'll find an "Import Lesson" button - click it. This opens a dialog where you can select a class and select lessons from that class to import them into your own class.
Imported lessons will initially be marked as "Imported", but you can rename them, move them, and add/edit/move/remove imported items.
